Join Carolyn Martin and the Nashville Swingers at the world famous Nashville Palace for Western Swing Wednesdays, an evening of western swing and traditional country music that will take place each and every Wednesday. From the very beginning, western swing was dance music. Born in Texas in the 1930's as an eclectic blend of big band and string band music along with jazz, blues, show tunes, cowboy songs and Dixieland, and mixed with the ethnic sounds of Czech, Scottish, Irish, German and Hispanic culture, Western Swing became a definitive part of Texas and American music.

The Nashville Palace's large dance floor makes it the ideal venue for dancers as well as for listeners. Though Nashville has some award-winning western swing bands, the venues where these bands usually perform are not particularly suitable for dancing. The Nashville Palace's expansive dance floor can bring back dancing as part of Nashville's western swing experience. Carolyn Martin was named the 2008 Western Swing Female Vocalist of the Year by the Academy of Western Artists and is also a member of the Grammy nominated Time Jumpers.
