Students will be encouraged to develop their current abilities, as well as explore a variety of ways to interpret their ideas in art. The course will focus on the basic elements of painting, on form, value, line and composition, as well as color use, glazing techniques, medium choices and archival information giving students increased skills and confidence. Students are encouraged to bring pictures and/or photographs to use as subject matter. Teacher will lecture periodically on related subject matter. Students should bring the supplies they already have to the first class.
