Add Review/Comment
Ken Rowe earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Northern Iowa in 1992 and his Master of Fine Arts from the University of Oregon 1998. He has worked professionally as a commercial sculptor, a sculptor, mold maker and animator for Will Vinton Studios and as a sculptor of action figure prototypes for Toxic Mom Sculpting Studio, both of Portland, Ore. Rowe has shown nationally in group, solo and invitational exhibitions and is known as an award-winning figurative sculptor. Most recently, he has been awarded a commission by the Metro Nashville Arts Commission to make sculptures to populate the new Public Square in downtown Nashville. Rowe currently teaches at Watkins College of Art, Design & Film and for Belmont University. The work he will be showing at The Renaissance Center will be from a new series of small-scale busts that are a mix of character study, examination of current events, and general examination of oddity.
Note: This exhibition is in the North Wing Gallery. A free opening reception will be held on March 27.
