Add Review/CommentThomas Cain brings a wealth of experience to the music industry as a songwriter, musician, performer, producer and publisher. He has worked with songwriters and publishers in the administration of their musical works, and helped to grow market share for one of the world’s leading performing rights organizations.
Thomas has written songs that have been recorded by top artists such as Kenny Rogers, Ronnie Milsap, Diamond Rio, Trace Adkins, The Mighty Clouds of Joy and Albertina Walker, among others. He has written and/or performed commercial jingles for many national product campaigns, including Rubbermaid, the Veterans Administration, McDonald’s, Oscar Mayer, Ford Motor Company and Golden Flake Potato Chips. His original compositions have been used as television background features on The Weather Channel.
Thomas formed Sweet Baby Music, now known as Candy Cane Music, to handle his publishing catalogue. The catalogue contains #1 country songs, blues recordings, jazz, R&B and gospel music. As a performer, Thomas has shared the bill in concerts with George Benson, Bill Withers, Ramsey Lewis, Dave Brubeck, the late, great Ray Charles, and others.
Thomas leads The Thomas Cain Band, a group consisting of woodwind instruments, harmonica, drums, electric and acoustic bass. Thomas is featured on piano, organ and vocals. His first CD release is entitled, "The Art of Healing," and contains an assortment of original jazz compositions. His upcoming project will feature live and studio recorded music, with a mixture of original pieces, his special arrangements of standard tunes, and covers of popular songs.
Thomas describes his music as a soulful blend of R&B, jazz, gospel and country. Ultimately, Thomas says his utmost ambition is to write and compose great songs, build a great publishing catalogue and when he performs with his band …"rock the house and make his audiences feel thrilled they came to his show."
