This powerful exhibition showcases Hollywood, California artist and Belmont University alumnus, Todd Williamson. New paintings as well as works created in Italy and the US for this special exhibit will be on display in the Leu Art Gallery, located inside the Lila D. Bunch Library.

Opening Reception: Wednesday, January 28, 2009, 4:00pm-6:00pm

      I've been a fan of Todd's art for about 10 years now. This particular show contains some of the best work Todd's done and really showcases all the different elements that Todd uses in his technique. Of course there's the lines as usual, but he is also using the new Aluminum background on a very large red piece as well as the metallic paint. Those have always been some of my favorites. You need to see it soon as contemporary art of this quality rarely comes to Nashville! Collapse

      Todd Williamson's work is pure genius. It evokes a sense of passion rarely evoked by modern day artisans. His palette is rich and bold while being soothing and assuring. The horizontal lines and texturing exhibited in the works are fundamental to the depth, boldness and embodiment of each piece. BRAVO! Collapse

      A powerful and beautiful show for this university gallery. Todd Williamson's work is big and bold while at the same time calm and zen. There are subtle underlying messages that always surface in the works, a message, a contact, a song, a meaning. An emotional exchange from the artist to the viewer on his take on the world. His works always have a hidden meaning, a reading that goes beyond what appears at first glance, which inevitably tiggers an emotional and very passionate reaction. The floating piece at the entrance to the gallery is inspiring and moving, especially if you saw the performce of the "art" with the specially commissioned music on opening night (music by Greg Walter). There is a spiritual awareness, joy and a ceaseless passion that the work evokes. Collapse
