Renowned speaker, bestselling author and marketing guru Seth Godin will deliver the keynote address at the opening ceremonies of Country Radio Seminar 40, to be held March 4 - 6, 2009 at the Nashville Convention Center in Nashville, Tenn. An expert in the fields of marketing and new media, Godin has written a dozen bestselling books, including "The Dip," "All Marketers are Liars," "Free Prize Inside," "Purple Cow" and "Meatball Sundae." His most recent book, "Tribes: We Need You to Lead Us," is already a Top Ten bestseller on Amazon.com.
"Seth Godin is a master at marketing. Attendees will be inspired by his message and walk away with ideas that will help them get their voice heard in this increasingly cluttered marketplace," says CRB President Becky Brenner. "No matter what business you are in, his ideas will help you improve and expand your interaction with the consumer. This session alone is worth the registration fee."
Godin's books have topped bestseller lists for the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal and appeared on Amazon.com's Top 100 and the Business Week bestseller list. "Permission Marketing" was named a Fortune Best Business Book and "Unleashing the Ideavirus" is still the most popular ebook ever written, with more than 1 million digital copies downloaded.
"We feel extremely lucky to have gotten a speaker like Seth Godin for CRS' 40th anniversary," says CRB Executive Director Ed Salamon. "I hope people take advantage of the opportunity to hear one of the country's premier marketing experts speak on a topic that is more important than ever in the country radio format."
Godin also operates one of the most popular marketing blogs in the world and is a highly sought after speaker, chosen recently as one of 21 Speakers for the Next Century by Successful Meetings Magazine. Named "America's Greatest Marketer" by American Way Magazine and the "Ultimate Entrepreneur for the Information Age" by Business Week, Godin developed the popular website www.squidoo.com, a user-built site that generates hundreds of thousands of dollars for charities each year. After receiving his MBA from Stanford University, Godin founded the direct mail and promotions Internet company Yoyodyne in 1995, which was bought by Yahoo! in 1998.
