This Lenten Symposium will be led by Dr. Luke Timothy Johnson on the Scripture and the Environment. Dr. Johnson is the Robert W. Woodruff Professor of New Testament and Christian Origins at the Candler School of Theology, Emory University. A Roman Catholic, Dr. Johnson was a Benedictine Monk and Priest for a considerable time before becoming a Biblical scholar. The weekend features a study of Scripture based in a theology of creation that reveals how the church can become an advocate for the earth.
