This exhibition features the work of Leslie Barr, Claire Burton, Chris Barstad, Chalit, Casey Carter, Brittany Gardner, Jackie Kerns Heigle, Adriane Smith and Jenna Winstead.
During the summer of 2008, MTSU Assistant Professor Jackie Kerns Heigle led a small group of students on a photo expedition of the Southwest. Areas visited include Santa Fe, Chaco Canyon, and Bisti Badlands in New Mexico; Canyon de Chelly, Arizona; Arches National Monument, Utah; Mesa Verde National Monument, and Colorado mining towns of Silverton and Ouray. The images of the land, monuments, and people encountered reflect the personal vision and creative choices of the individual photographers. Some used plastic cameras prone to light leaks, while others preferred the precision of a view camera, or the aesthetic of pinhole photography and polaroid type 55 film.
Helpful Information: An artists' reception will be held on Friday, April 3 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
