TPAC's Premiere Evening featuring Daryl Hall
April 25, 2009
Add Review/Comment
Attending TPAC's annual Premiere Evening is one of the best ways to champion cultural heritage and advance education in Tennessee schools through TPAC's educational and cultural programs. TPAC has one of the finest programs of its kind in the nation, serving thousands of children and educators in public, private, and home schools across the state each year.
This year, Daryl Hall takes the stage at War Memorial Auditorium for a private performance for Premiere Evening guests. Daryl Hall has had the great good fortune, in his own words, of "being in the right place at the right time" for what has turned out a rich and varied career. In 1987, the R.I.A.A. recognized Daryl Hall and John Oates as the Number-One Selling Duo in music history, a record they still hold today. Daryl’s latest project is a monthly Internet series, Live from Daryl’s House (www.livefromdarylshouse.com).
TPAC will be honoring Barbara and Jack Bovender with the 2009 Applause Society Award which was established in 1981 to recognize exemplary community and corporate leadership in the performing arts. Recipients of the Applause Award have made notable contributions to the growth and success of cultural and educational programming, for the benefit of audiences, artists, and students. They inspire others as a strong voice for the value of and essential need for arts education, especially for children.
