    In celebration of the 150th anniversary of the Tennessee State Capitol, the State Museum will present Plein-air Paintings of the State Capitol by the Chestnut Group. There will be 66 paintings on view that pay homage to the State Capitol during different times of day and during the different seasons. Whether depicting blue skies, sunsets, snowfall or basking in the glow of holiday lights, each painter has found their own unique interpretation of this inspirational building.

    Opening Reception: The Museum will be open on Saturday evening, April 4, 6:00pm-9:00pm for the Opening Reception celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Tennessee State Capitol. There will be a Private Preview for Museum Foundation members beginning at 6:00pm. The public is invited to attend from 7:00pm to 9:00pm, free of charge. This reception coinsides with Downtown Nashville Art Crawl. The exhibition runs through May 17, 2009.
