The Nashville Calligraphers' Guild Members Exhibit and Sculpture by Ron Olson

The Nashville Calligraphers' Guild was formed in 1981 to foster the continued practice, study and community awareness of their art form, still so vital today. "Frequently melding poetry, painting and calligraphy, the Guild's works engage the viewer on many levels with energy, grace and power." says Art Center Director, Brenda McSurley.

After earning a BS from Georgia Tech and a MS in Design from North Carolina State, former gallery owner Ron Olsen taught a variety of visual arts classes at the Roswell Art League in North Atlanta. At Nashville's Plaza Artist Materials, Olson currently teaches classes in pen-and-ink drawing and abstract painting. Of Olson, Art Center gallery manager Lena Lucas says, "We are excited to debut his latest series of sculptures. Ron possesses great depth and ability as a visual artist, and a vast generosity of spirit as a teacher."

Opening Reception: Friday, April 3, 5:00pm-7:00pm. The exhibition runs through May 29. Tom Rice's outdoor sculptures and garden benches also continue on display in the Herb Garden courtyard.
