    Poet, writer, performance artist and visual artist Henry L. Jones, author of Run into Blackness: Feeling My Poetic Gumbo will recite from a selection of his poems and answers questions about his life as a literary artist. Jones has received awards and recognitions for his literary contributions. His poems focus on culture, history and social issues.

    This reading event is sponsored by the Bordeaux Branch Public Library and Bridge Your Soulful Journey (a poetry outreach organization). The library is next to Kroger off of Clarksville Pike.

    Inaugurated by the Academy of American Poets in 1996, National Poetry Month is now held every April, when publishers, booksellers, literary organizations, libraries, schools and poets around the country band together to celebrate poetry and its vital place in American culture.
