Participants of the Creative Arts Project, Edgehill Community residents, and friends will be creating an outdoor mural at the Edgehill Center. The project will be directed by artist, Michael McBride. The Creative Arts Project is sponsored by the Middle Tennessee Mental Health and Substance Abuse Coalition (MTMHSAC). The MTMHSAC was established to enable persons with mental illness and substance abuse disorders to express their creativity through art and to help combat stigma within the community about mental illness, alcohol and drug abuse by displaying artwork. The mural kick off ceremony will take place on June 1, 2009, at 10:00 am and work on the mural will continue through completion. The Edgehill Center is located at 935 Edgehill Ave., in Nashville, TN.
