AEG Live/The Messina Group proudly presents multi-platinum recording artists Green Day, with special guests Kaiser Chiefs. Green Day, singer-guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist Mike Dirnt and drummer Tre Cool, are touring in support of their eighth studio album 21st Century Breakdown, which has recently been certified gold by the R.I.A.A. Produced by Butch Vig, 21st Century Breakdown was released by Reprise Records on May 15th, 2009, and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart, as well as on the Rock, Active Rock, and Alternative charts. The album, which has already spawned the Alternative radio hit singles "Know Your Enemy" and "21 Guns," also topped the charts in 24 countries including the UK, Canada, and Japan.
After kicking off their tour with a big 4th of July weekend in Seattle and then Vancouver, critics are raving over their first performances on tour in the United States in over three years. Rolling Stone says, "As if releasing a wave of energy that had been building up during their four-year hiatus from touring, Green Day poured all their heart and soul into a powerhouse two-hour set." After breaking through with 1994's pop-punk classic "Dookie," Green Day found their second wind a decade later with "American Idiot," which earned them a new, much younger audience here and abroad. .
