Janis Pozzi-Johnson's work involves hundreds of layers of paint on canvas that create abstract and organic surfaces resembling molten metal and petrified wood. Her paintings reference air, earth, sky and water and illustrate her search for clarity and resilience of the human spirit in the natural world. Pozzi-Johnson is a graduate of the American Academy of Art, Loyola University, The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and the Alfred Adler Institute of Chicago. Her work has been exhibited in solo shows in Chicago, New York, Geneva and Zimbabwe.

Opening Reception: Saturday, May 2, 6:00pm-9:00pm as part of the First Saturday Downtown Gallery Crawl.
