Celebration for Preservation: Symphony Concert to Save the Ancient Forest
May 17, 2009

This Sunday afternoon concert at Trinity Presbyterian Church benefits Friends of Warner Parks and is brought to you through the generosity of Roger Wiesmeyer, the Nashville Symphony and other musical friends. Seating is very limited, so make your reservations now!
Walking into an old-growth forest is like stepping back in time. It’s not hard to imagine people like yourself treading the hills and hollows generations and centuries before you. A little farther in, and you begin to lose awareness of the outside world, as the sounds and smells of traffic give way to the solemn silence of the forest. Remarkably, we have an old-growth treasure right here in the heart of Metropolitan Nashville—nearly 200 acres of woods never cut for timber. Friends of Warner Parks has committed to buy the Hill Tract, a 324-acre property that's home to an old-growth forest of trees more than two centuries old.
