    Jazz Pianist and Master Educator Andy Laverne makes his first appearance at the Jazz Workshop Saturday June 27th. Andy was student and protege of jazz legend Bill Evans. He's also performed with an impressive list of jazz greats, including Frank Sinatra, Stan Getz, Woody Herman, Dizzy Gillespie, Chick Corea, Lionel Hampton, and Michael Brecker! He has over 50 recording projects as a leader, and numerous instructional DVD's and books. Andy is also a frequent contributor to Keyboard Magazine as well as Downbeat, Jazz Improv, Piano Today, Piano Quarterly and JazzOne. He currently is a professor of jazz at the Hartt School (University of Hartford) and teaches yearly at the Aebersold Summer Jazz Workshops. Joining Andy for this incredible performance will be Roger Spencer on bass and Marcus Finnie on drums.

    As part of his NJW appearance, Andy will also present a clinic for intermediate and advanced players Saturday at 1:00pm.
