Country Music's Biggest Night! The 43rd Annual CMA Awards will be broadcast live on Wednesday, November 11 on the ABC Television Network from the Sommet Center in Nashville. The event, hosted by Country superstars Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood, will recognize and celebrate the best and brightest performers, songwriters, record producers and music video directors. Slated to perform at the show are: Brooks & Dunn, Reba McEntire, Tim McGraw, Martina McBride, Brad Paisley, Darius Rucker, George Strait, Sugarland, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, and Keith Urban. In addition, the following artists will perform duets together: Vince Gill with rock band Daughtry, Kenny Chesney with Dave Matthews, and Kid Rock with Jamey Johnson.
The first celebrities announced as Awards presenters during "Country Music's Biggest Night" are NASCAR superstar driver Dale Earnhardt Jr.; stars of ABC's "The Middle" Neil Flynn and Patricia Heaton; Julianne Hough; nine-time CMA Award winners The Judds; Country Music Hall of Fame member Kris Kristofferson; six-time CMA Award winner Lee Ann Womack; nominee Randy Houser (for both New Artist and Music Video of the Year for "Boots On"); nominee Jake Owen (New Artist of the Year); Kellie Pickler; Kid Rock; CMA Award winner LeAnn Rimes; and ABC News's Robin Roberts, co-anchor of "Good Morning America" and host of the upcoming "Robin Roberts: Bright Lights. Big Stars. All Access Nashville" ABC television special (airing Nov. 10).
The CMA Awards nominees and winners are determined by the 6,000 industry professional members of CMA, which was the first trade organization formed to promote an individual genre of music in 1958. A total of 12 CMA Awards in the following categories are presented: Entertainer of the Year, Single of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, Vocal Group of the Year, Vocal Duo of the Year, Musical Event of the Year, Musician of the Year, Music Video of the Year and New Artist of the Year (formerly known as the Horizon Award).
