John Leppelman will be signing Blood on the Risers at Sherlocks Books. From Dak To to the Tet Offensive, John Leppelman saw it all. In three tours of duty, he made combat jumps, spent months of fruitless effort looking for the enemy, watched as his budies died because of lousy leadership and lousy weapons. He saw the war as few others did, and lives to tell about the valor and sacrifice that outlived the dead.

      I have read Mr. Leppelman's book 6 times. I have taken it with me on 3 tours. His story is vivid and cuts through any misconceptions of a Vietnam tour in the rear with the gear. His book is extremely... Expand

      I have read Mr. Leppelman's book 6 times. I have taken it with me on 3 tours. His story is vivid and cuts through any misconceptions of a Vietnam tour in the rear with the gear. His book is extremely hard to put down once you start reading it. I believe that his book should be a mandatory read and part of the public school system's History curriculum. No doubt that it is factual in every way. On my 3 tours I have loaned it to several of my fellow airmen with the promise that it gets returned upon completion. Do a favor to some young person and urge them to read this book so they might get a grasp on what it takes to make this country free. I wouldn't think of going on combat tour without it. Collapse

      John is a good man, and a hero along with all of our Vietnam Vets. I had the great privilege of meeting him at our Paratroopers Gathering this year and it was a very memorable and enjoyable... Expand

      John is a good man, and a hero along with all of our Vietnam Vets. I had the great privilege of meeting him at our Paratroopers Gathering this year and it was a very memorable and enjoyable experience. His book is a very good insight into what the Vietnam War was really like, and also to what our men in uniform endured. I would recommend it to anyone. Collapse
