Grammy, Dove and AMA award-winning Christian rock band Casting Crowns returns to Nashville's Sommet Center. Since being discovered by, among others, contemporary Christian music legend Steven Curtis Chapman, Casting Crowns received a recording contract and vaulted to popularity in 2003 with their self-titled debut album Casting Crowns. Lifesong followed in 2005 and was certified platinum. The band's record-setting No.1 song "East to West" off of the 2007 release The Altar & The Door was nominated for a Grammy in two categories, Best Gospel Performance and Best Gospel Song, with lead singer Mark Hall pulling in the nomination as the songwriter. The Altar and The Door was nominated for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album.
