Uncle Dave Macon Days Festival and The Arts Center of Cannon County announce the official opening event of the 2009 Uncle Dave Macon Days, "Traveling Down the Road", an evening under the stars with Uncle Doc and his New Fruit Jar Drinkers. "Uncle" Doc Wilhite leads an all star, talented young crew of old time pickers including Phillip Steinmetz, Robert Montgomery and Jeremy Stevens on July 9, 2009 at the Dillon Park Pavilion in beautiful downtown Woodbury. This super group is composed of past contest winners from Uncle Dave Macon Days and actually won the Old Time Band Contest in 2006. Audiences can surely expect a lively, energetic show in the spirit of the Dixie Dew Drop.
So bring your lawn chair and picnic basket and come traveling down the road with us to the roots of country music. Don't miss out on the official opening of the 2009 Uncle Dave Macon Days!
