Fronted by brothers Scott and Seth, along with stand-up bassist Bob Crawford, North Carolina’s The Avett Brothers combine old-time country, bluegrass, punk, pop melodies, folk, rock and roll, honky tonk and ragtime to produce a sound described by the Washington Post as "post civil-war modern rock", or by other reviewers as "grungegrass".

Since forming the band five years ago, the Avett Brothers have gained a loyal following with their uniquely ragged version of bluegrass-meets-punk. With viciously strumming acoustic guitar and banjo, and backing from the upright bass, they've screamed, harmonized and stomped their way through sold out shows. They've gained national attention on NPR's syndicated show "Mountain Stage," through features in popular music magazines such as "Paste" and "No Depression" and with relentless touring and performances at acclaimed festivals such as Bonnaroo and Merlefest.

Also performing is with Nicole Atkins & The Black Sea.
