NJW presents a new series starting Sunday, August 2. The Contemporary Jazz Series features local contemporary jazz artists, and takes place the first Sunday of each month in the Jazz Cave. The series is hosted by Rahsaan Barber. The debut performance is by the Nioshi Jackson Reason, led by drummer Nioshi Jackson and featuring Jody Nardone (piano), Jerry Navarro (bass), and Rahsaan Barber (sax). This is an alcohol-free show and all ages are welcome.

This series gives us the chance to present some new, original, and cutting edge jazz you haven't heard before in the Jazz Cave. Many of these groups appear in local clubs, but now you can hear them in the world-class performance space of the Cave.
