    L.A.S. Therapy Network and Development Group, Inc., in partnership with Tennessee Arts Commission and Tennessee Department of Health celebrate September as Deaf Awareness Month with Laughter is the Best Medicine: Speech-Language-Hearing Healthcare Program featuring Nashvillestandup.com Comedians Leslie Nash and Chris Loyd, Nutrition Educator Leslie Speller-Henderson, Vocalist Paul Anthony Jack, the Cremona Strings Ensemble Too, Bizz and Crew Band, as well as, a premiere movie at Opry Mills Regal Cinemas DTS-CSS Theater. Participants will also have speech-language-hearing screenings and hearing aid battery checks available at locations. Come enjoy live entertainment, refreshments, speech-language-hearing screenings, and hearing aid batteries checks.

    Listed below are the dates and events for Deaf Awareness Month:

    Saturday, 9/12 11:00am-1:30pm Rock Harbor Marine Blue Moon Lagoon Cafe and aboard the Last Call, 525 Basswood Avenue
    "Cruisin on the Cumberland" - Proceeds for augmentative/assistive communication devices for children and adults with special needs. $65/General Admission

    Tuesday, 9/15 2:00pm-4:00pm Operation Stand Down, 1101 Edgehill Ave. Free to the public.

    Friday, 9/18 2:00pm-4:30pm Regal Cinemas Opry Mills, 550 Opry Mills Mall. Featuring the DTS-CSS Cinema Subtitling System for the Deaf, Hard-of-Hearing, Visually Impaired and Blind. Individuals without disabilities are also encouraged to attend. Free ticket while available. No reservations please!

    Tuesday, 9/22 3:00pm-5:00pm Doubletree Guest Suites Airport, 2424 Atrium Way. Free to the public.

    Tuesday 9/29 10:00am-12:00pm TVA Fossil Plant 535 Steam Plant Road New Johnsonville. Free to the public.
