The Sanders family returns to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in the mountains of North Carolina on the Christmas Eve following Pearl Harbor. The family has gathered for one last singin' at the church before young Dennis ships out for boot camp. All are invited to become a member of Reverend Oglethorpe's congregation for a nostalgic visit in an old-time church in 1941.
