The late 1930s marked the spread of new technology, including labor-saving electric appliances. Owning and using these new appliances was a sign of a “modern home.” A hip person (a keen cat in 1930s lingo) would have embraced these improvements and furnished her kitchen with the electric stove, refrigerator, power mixer, and other items which are now an expected part of 21st century kitchens. Stop by our little corner of kitchen history and test your knowledge of 1930s lingo!

Helpful Information: Children under age 14 must be accompanied by an adult at all times and in all areas of the Museum. Free parking for Museum visitors is available behind the Museum at the top of the hill off South Second Street. Sundays are free for everyone!
