The Global Education Center, in partnership with Logos Rhythms, Voices from Our America and Nashville Public Library, will bring Native American poet Joy Harjo to Nashville for a poetry performance and audience discussion with the public at W. O. Smith Community Music School. Joy Harjo is known for her dynamic, multi-faceted, multicultural presentation of poetry that is heavily influenced by her Muscogee heritage and her desire to reflect on universal social issues that affect the lives of people from all cultures. Her readings are engaging and inspirational, and this is a rare treat for poetry lovers in Middle Tennessee.

This educational concert is made possible with support from Humanities Tennessee, an independent affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities, and by grants from both the Southern Arts Federation and the Tennessee Arts Commission in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts. It is presented through the generosity of W. O. Smith Nashville Community Music School.
