October is going to be a very special and unsettling month at the Belcourt. We’ve decided to go all out and show some classics of modern horror, focusing on the seventies with our Weekend Classics series, and other territory for Midnight Movies. We have an exceptional selection of films that play with fears across an unimaginably expansive canvas: families in crisis, big man-eating things, the encroachment of The Other, heartless hierarchies, the revolt of the flesh, betrayal on both the cellular and authoritarian levels, and even the breakdown in communication in society… We’ve got them all, and we’re serving them up, bloody fresh and chillingly cold.
