    From 2007- 2009, Ms VanReece was the Nashville Shakespeare Festival's first Executive Director. During her term, The Nashville Shakespeare Festival saw unprecedented growth in production and services. Previously, she had a successful eight and half year career in entertainment, corporate and healthcare licensing for the world's largest performing rights agency, Broadcast Music Inc (BMI). She has also successfully lobbied public officials for fairness on the federal, state and local levels. She was the president of an independent advertising agency for eight years as well as a successful personal manager for recording artist and record producers for nine years. VanReece moved to Nashville in 1986 after college at Baylor University where she studied radio/TV and communications. She has served the Nashville artistic community in a variety of ways. She is a painter and published author. She was president of the board of directors for People's Branch Theater 2004-2006 and served on the board of directors for The Nashville Film Festival 2006-2009, She curently is on the board of the The Tennessee Equality Project Foundation, The Arts & Business Council of Nashville's committee for Volunteer Lawyers & Professionals for the Arts, and on the Community Advisory Board for the Women's & Gender Studies department at Vanderbilt University. She lives with her partner, Joan, in Madison, TN just 10 miles North of downtown Nashville.

    Face-to-Face is a monthly 45 minute live in-depth interview series conducted by well-known Nashville entertainment writer F. Daniel Kent and sponsored by OutCentral. This unique series aims to help Nashville's GLBT community reconnect with its long and storied past. We have grown in leaps and bounds over the past decade but there are still far too few in our midst who have a true sense of continuity with those who have gone before. As time goes on the gap between those who helped lay the foundation that our community builds upon today and those who are now reaping the benefits of that hard work grows ever wider. The goal of Face-to-Face is to help bridge that gap. This will be accomplished by creating a space where longtime members of our community can talk about their memories of Nashville's past, their present experiences and their hopes for the future of our shared journey as GLBT people living in and around Nashville.
