TRIMPIN: The Sound of Invention is a documentary about MacArthur Genius Award winner Trimpin (who only uses his last name), a wildly creative artist-inventor-composer-engineer.

International Lens is proud to be a 2009-10 recipient of a Southern Arts Federation (SAF) Southern Circuit grant that supports the nation’s only regional tour of independent filmmakers, providing communities with an interactive way of experiencing independent film. The tour connects audience members with independent filmmakers and encourages dialogue about the films. Southern Circuit transforms watching independent films from a solitary experience into a communal one. The film directors will lead post-screening discussions and there will be a reception for the filmmakers immediately following each screening.

Southern Circuit screenings are funded in part by a grant from the Southern Arts Federation in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts and local partner organizations. Special support for Southern Circuit was provided by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
