      I went to this last year and it really made me wish I could go back to school again--to a Waldorf school! This is the way education was meant to be--captivating and leaving you wanting more. I took part in a 6th grade physics class and a 3rd grade math class. In physics they blackened the room and we experimented with light as scientists would. Observing. Writing and drawing what we saw. Discussing and arriving at conclusions. I can see how this approach teaches children to think for themselves. Instead of telling students the answers, the teachers lead them to discover the answers for themselves. The math class was fun, and demanding! The adult "students" played a bean bag circle game using mental math. We literally had to think on our feet. This event is the best way to get to know this extraordinary style of education. It is truly unique and has to be experienced to understanding it. Collapse
