Owl City

Outback Concerts and Sell Out presents Owl City, an American synthpop musical project consisting of Adam Young. Young started out making music in his parents' basement in Owatonna, Minnesota, which he claims is a result of his insomnia. Young's influences are disco and European electronic music. While his song structures resemble '80s synthpop groups like New Order and The Human League, his synths borrow more from '90s rave music. After two independent albums, Owl City gained mainstream popularity from the 2009 major label debut album Ocean Eyes, which spawned the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 #1 hit single "Fireflies" which topped the US and Canadian charts and became the most-downloaded song on iTunes.
