January 8, 2010
Add Review/Comment
Celebrate the 195th anniversary of the American victory at the Battle of New Orleans, which ended the War of 1812, sometimes referred to as the "Second War of Independence." The traditional wreath-laying ceremony will begin at 10:00am with the Tennessee Army National Guard Color Guard at the tomb of President Andrew Jackson along with U.S. Congressman Jim Cooper, 5th Congressional District of Tennessee, as the keynote speaker. In addition, our special “Eighth of January” event includes costumed interpreter-led tours of Jackson’s home, children’s activities, and more. Free admission all day.
