Presented by: F. Clark Williams, Director Dean of Students Information Technology Support USA (2007) Dir: James Benning. This is an ambivalent history of Manifest Destiny told through shots of trains moving through the landscape. Benning's minimalist aesthetic produces a subtle political critique of American overconsumption and the tumultuous history of railroads, which changed the landscape of the American West. Not Rated. 111 minutes.
Presented by: Todd Hughes, Director, Language Center. Funded in part by the Language Center. Held in conjunction with International Education Week. Presenters will provide an introduction and facilitate post-screening discussion for each film. Sarratt Cinema is located on the first floor of the Sarratt Student Center at Vanderbilt University.
