Nashville will have its own Brazilian "Carnaval" courtesy of the French Quarter Cafe and three local Brazilian music bands. Dann Sherrill's Trio Ginga, Samba Nove, and Music City Samba are joining forces to present a Brazilian Carnaval night at the East Nashville venue.

Trio Ginga is what happened when three Brazilian music fanatics got together to play Brazilian music the way it is supposed to be played...with authenticity, passion, virtuosity.

Samba Noveis an 8-piece band performing an eclectic mix of Brazilian styles, including bossa nova, baiao, pop, funk, and samba. The band consists of three vocalist/percussionists who perform vocals in Portuguese and English.

Music City Samba is a powerful 20 piece Brazilian Carnaval drumming ensemble showcasing the talents of many of Nashville's top world percussionists. Founded in 2002 by Dann Sherrill, the group presents Carnaval drumming styles from the all over Brazil.
