"One Kiss Cafe", a new musical by songwriter-author-playwright Parrish Stanton and legendary director Ted Swindley (author and director of "Always... Patsy Cline"), will begin a three-weekend run at the Ford Theater at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.
Stanton's "One Kiss Cafe" is described as a "glimpse of Nashville... the story of life, love and the music business." The musical will star singer-actors Mike Callahan, Mika Combs, Karen Wheeler and David Kinnard, and also feature special Appearances by Hit Songwriters Rand Bishop, Barbara Cloyd, and Pete & Pat Luboff.
"One Kiss Cafe" centers around a 20-something emerging songwriter named Ricky Stakonis (played by Callahan). After arriving in Nashville, Ricky falls for a 20-something songwriter/love interest named Sara Baker (played by Combs). While trying to be discovered, Ricky receives encouragement from a cafe' owner/bartender named Tootsie McCoy (played by Wheeler) and hype from a smooth-talking music publisher named Carl "Midas" Bradford (played by Kinnard).
The four-member cast will sing and dance to contemporary country/pop up-tempo songs and ballads written by Stanton with various Nashville songwriting collaborators, including Jeff Pedigo, Bill Warrington, Mike Vance, and Scott Stepakoff. "One Kiss Cafe" is produced by Phoenix Rising Entertainment Inc. of Nashville.
