NJW's newest series presents saxophonist Chris West. He'll be joined by Derrek Phillips (drums), Jerry Navarro (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Paul Horton (keyboard), Adam Agati (guitar), Oscar Utterstrom (trombone), and Evan Cobb (alto & tenor saxes). The series, hosted by Rahsaan Barber, is designed to present new, original, and cutting edge jazz that may not have been heard before in the Jazz Cave.

Born and raised in Nashville TN, Chris West has been a presence on the Nashville music scene for over 15 years. With musical influences that include jazz, R&B, soul, hip hop, world music, bluegrass, and more, West has created a unique sound that has garnered respect within the music community. While establishing himself as a talented musician, he's also accomplished as a composer, with diverse projects that include movies, commercials, big bands, orchestras, and various other ensembles.  West released his first full length CD, "Jazzmanic," in 2007, and is about to release the first disc of a trilogy that he’s been working on for the past several years called the "Surprise Trilogy."
