"Modern Girls is an exhibit I created in honor of Women’s History Month. I wanted to recognize the talented contemporary women of Tennessee that are successful in the national, and for some worldwide, field of visual art. The participants of Modern Girls represent the entire state of Tennessee, and a variety of mediums. It is very exciting to bring these talents together, under one roof, in one exhibit, for the first time." - Terri Jordan, Curator of Exhibits

The artists participating in this show include: April Street, Denise Stewart Sanabria, Julia Martin, Jennifer Utterback, Brenda Stein, Caroline Allison, Adrienne Outlaw, Annamaria Gundlach, Anne Babgy, Edie Many, Irene Ritter, and Sher Fick.

There will be a Cocktail Reception on March 11th to celebrate the opening of the Modern Girls exhibit. Some of the exhibit’s featured artists will also be doing a gallery talk beginning at 5:15pm. If you plan on attending this event, a RSVP is requested by March 8th. Please email Terri Jordan to RSVP.

Helpful Information: Children under age 14 must be accompanied by an adult at all times and in all areas of the Museum. Free parking for Museum visitors is available behind the Museum at the top of the hill off South Second Street. Sundays are free for everyone!
