    Ntozake Shange's groundbreaking choreopoem touches on the issues of rape, abortion, domestic violence and motherhood, while also highlighting themes such as love, self-discovery, sisterhood, faith, and hope. The play features seven women only referred to as a color of the rainbow. This production comes to Vanderbilt for the first time in 13 years to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the play. One of the most valued pieces of African American Literature written by a prolific African American female playwright. The production is student-directed and student-run, sponsored by the Black Student Alliance.
