What happens when a shy, aspiring writer from the Midwest comes to the Big Apple in search of fame and fortune? For Michael Caldwell, life becomes a series of hilarious encounters with the unpredictable residents of his dilapidated apartment house. Among them are Marshall Ryan, a commercial actor who specializes in portraying inanimate objects; Tanya Romanov, a Russian ballerina on the lam from the KGB; and Philomena Della Vecchia, a wisecracking actress. Phil may be the woman of Michael's dreams if he can just keep her quiet long enough to tell her. To retain his own sanity, Michael retreats to his fantasies, only to find that the world of his imagination is even more nerve-wracking than the reality surrounding him!

Please note: The opening night for this play has been moved to May 7 with proceeds benefiting Bellevue flood victims. Donations of canned food items and clothes will be accepted at the door along with a suggested donation of $20 per person which will be taken directly to the Bellevue flood relief efforts. This performance will take place Backstage at Chaffin's Barn Dinner Theatre.

      All four of us who attended "Mixed Nuts" thoroughly enjoyed it. Since we were a mixture of Midwesters and New Yorkers, we had a great viewpoint on how well the characters were interpreted and they were done very well. We also ranged in age from 15-61 and all ages enjoyed it. Kudos to Mr Peppers for direction and all the actors for great portrayals. And also to the set designers - to do so much with a small space was great. The food was excellent as well. In fact it was too good. We all over-ate. A thoroughly enjoyable evening and we can't wait to go back. Collapse
