"Tunesmithing on Music Row", a monthly show spotlighting emerging and hit songwriter\. The headliner for the evening will be hit blues singer-songwriter Janey Street ("Under the Clock"/Top-20 AC hit). Also performing will be singer-songwriter Timothy R. Flynn, professional singer-songwriter Deborah Bishop, and professional singer-songwriter Susan Shann. Performers will do individual sets, presenting 25 minutes of original music. . This show is sponsored by Whiting Publicity and Promotions and publicist/author/composer Chuck Whiting will emcee the show.
Janey Street has recorded albums for Warner Brothers/Reprise, Capitol Records and Arista Records (under the guidance of legendary music mogul Clive Davis). Her single "Under the Clock" was a top 20 AC hit, and its accompanying music video received frequent airplay on VH-1. Her single "Say Hello To Ronnie" climbed the Billboard pop chart. Street has performed across the nation, opening for major acts such as the Bee Gees, Melanie, Richie Havens, John Hammond Jr., Livingston Taylor, Janis Ian and Odetta. The blues artist's most recent album, "The Street Less Traveled", was produced by Fred Mollin and climbed various blues charts. Street's songs have been recorded by artists such as the legendary Ruth Brown (on the Grammy-nominated CD "A Good Day For The Blues"), Janis Ian (a track Street produced and also co-wrote with Ian), Eric Anderson, Dutch artist Judith, Japanese artist Maria, and many others. Two of Street’s songs were featured in the motion picture "Food Fight", an animated movie starring Charlie Sheen, Hilary Duff and Eva Longoria. Her music has also been featured in TV shows such as "The Young & The Restless", "One Life to Live", "Rock & Roll Evening News", and "Street Shadows", as well as the films "Promised Land" (performed by James Newton Howard) and "White Winter Heat".
