Metro Parks and Arts in the Parks will present "Songs in a Silken Sky" at Two Rivers Mansion . This historic venue offers the perfect intimate setting for this cabaret event with ten talented young vocalists. The event is directed by Carolyn German and boasts the talented Steve Willets as Musical Director and accompanist. Seating is limited, and reservations may be made by calling (615) 509-0247.

"Songs in a Silken Sky" will highlight the vocals of Anastasia Teel, Delaney Amatrudo, Mariah Parris, Elizabeth Cameron, Emily Adams, Sara Johnson, Victor Phelps, Zuri Lyles, and Audrey Smith , all of whom have excelled in the Musical Theater Program at Metro Parks. "This promises to be a charming performance," notes director Carolyn German, "with the talent the singers are bringing, and the wide variety of tunes that will fill the evening." The two-act cabaret will contain some familiar favorites ("Come Rain or Come Shine", "Blue Skies"), some rarely-heard gems, ("We Can Be Kind", "I Could Write a Book", "The Promise"), and some great comedic cabaret fare ("My Party Dress", "Blue Hair"). And, as a special treat for Mother's Day, vocalists will share a few tunes to celebrate moms and all their devotion, love, and their predictable quirks, too!
