Jeanie Gooden is an abstract painter who currently lives and works in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. According to Gooden, painting in Mexico, with its extraordinary light and wonderful culture, is an intimate part of her work. Gooden’s most recent works demonstrate her interest in creating large-scale pieces that explore color stories and different materials.

Gooden's emotions and feelings appear in her paintings. Through her choice of color, brushes, texture, and movement, she begins a dialogue that dances between clarity and confusion. For Gooden, painting is about making an initial commitment to the canvas and then embracing where that commitment takes her.

She states, "the joy I find in making art is captured within the moments of completion and release, meaning when the canvas becomes a painting and when a person connects with that painting." It is this challenging yet satisfying combination that drives her to paint again and again.

Jeanie Gooden recieved her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Tusla in Oklahoma. Her works reside in both corporate and private collections across the United States, as well as in England, Mexico, and the Cayman Islands.
