    Our 2010 fundraiser shares an event that took place at Travellers Rest in 1864 during the plantation's use as General John Bell Hood's headquarters leading up to the Battle of Nashville. As the evening unfolds, learn a more personal and emotional struggle of two Nashvillians – he an officer in Hood’s army and she his betrothed – who rekindled their love in Nashville and celebrated their new marriage at Travellers Rest just three days before he fought in the battle.

    The evening will include a tour of the historic house guided by docents in period dress, Civil War re-enactors, cocktails, a buffet dinner, Sesquicentennial celebration plans and a presentation by our Staff Historian.
