Experienced wildlife photographer Christian Sperka will open a gallery at Nashville’s Arcade this Saturday! The grand opening will take place at 59 Arcade during the popular First Saturday Gallery Crawl.

In addition to the wildlife image display, the gallery will also offer various types of photography classes and private lessons. Classes are designed for anyone who loves to take pictures of animals both wild and domestic. Sperka also offers his talents for personal pet photography.

Sperka has an extensive collection of wildlife images. Many of his images are taken at Nashville Zoo at Grassmere and several of the Zoo’s animals are featured in the gallery. Sperka’s images are used extensively in the Zoo’s promotional materials including the Zoo map, membership card and website. The Zoo offers several different photography classes taught by Sperka ranging from simple “point and shoot” camera techniques to animal behavior interpretation programs.

Over the past ten years, Christian Sperka has worked in game reserves in South Africa as well as zoos in Switzerland and the United States. He got involved in wildlife conservation in 2002 and actively supports the Munyawana Leopard project in South Africa and the Africa Foundation. Sperka’s projects occasionally branch out to include aerial, event and travel photography around the world and in his current home state of Tennessee. More information about Christian Sperka and his work can be found at www.sperka.com.
