    Bud Caldwell’s Rules for Having a Funner Life Number 328: When you make up your mind to do something, hurry up and do it. If you wait you might talk yourself out of what you wanted in the first place. Bud – and that’s Bud, not Buddy – a ten-year-old African-American boy who has lost his mother, makes up his mind to journey on his own in search of the man he believes to be his father, jazz composer and musician Herman E. Calloway. His amazing mythic hero journey to Flint, Michigan is set against the framework of the Great Depression, and this touching, surprising story is brimming with humor and humanity.
