Singer/songwriter, journalist and Blair lecturer Peter Cooper conducts an interview with Music City music business legend Jim Foglesong. The talented, classically trained vocalist Jim Foglesong began his music career in South Charleston, West Virginia, and followed his passions to Manhattan in the mid-20th century as an executive and producer with Columbia Records and RCA. He arrived in Nashville in 1970 and brought his musical and business acumen to country music, spearheading the signing and development of some of the industry’s most beloved and enduring artists, with ABC-Dot, ABC, MCA and as president of Capitol Records. Now a sought-after lecturer and popular teacher at Blair, Jim counts a legion of successful music artists among his friends and protégés. Peter Cooper will lead an informal conversation with this courtly, cultured and completely accessible legend before a live audience. This event will be recorded live for later broadcast on WNPT-2 Television and on Vanderbilt VUcast. Sponsored by Nissan North America, Inc.
