    Drake Dantzler is an artist in demand in concert, opera, and operetta throughout the United States. He has appeared with the Chicago Chamber Opera, Central City Opera, Sarasota Opera and Austin Lyric Opera, among others – in such roles as Tamino, Ernesto, Don Ottavio, and Lensky, as well as creating roles by contemporary composers Dan Welcher and Joseph Turrin. In operetta, Drake has performed Camille from The Merry Widow with the Breckenridge Music Festival as well as Ivan from Katinka by Friml, Nanki-Poo from Mikado and Frederick from Pirates of Penzance. A returning alumnus, Mr. Dantzler holds degrees from Vanderbilt University, Eastman School of Music, and a Doctorate from the University of Texas. He is currently on faculty at Oakland University. A Master Class with Mr. Dantzler will be held on October 20 at 12:10pm in Turner Recital Hall – the public is invited to observe. Sponsored by the Mary Cortner Ragland Master Series Fund.
