Blair Signature Series: The Blair Woodwind Quintet

Jane Kirchner, flute; Jared Hauser, oboe; Cassandra Lee, clarinet; Cynthia Estill, bassoon; and Leslie Norton, horn. The ebullient Blair Woodwind Quintet whips up another of its varied programs of exceptional delight, sharing the stage this time with two faculty colleagues -- Erin Horner, horn, and pianist extraordinaire Amy Dorfman. The performance includes the sextet Fantasy on a J.S. Bach Fugue by Lowell Liebermann, a brief quartet by the incomparable wind composer Jean Francaix, a contemporary (tonal) quintet by Grammy award winner Jack Gallagher, and the luscious Romantic sounds of Carl Reinecke’s wind Sextet, Op 271.
