YWCA Academy for Women of Achievement Recognition Dinner and Induction Ceremony

YWCA Academy for Women of Achievement Recognition Dinner and Induction Ceremony honors the work and service of exceptional Middle Tennessee women who are leaders in their fields and serve as role models for young women. This year, title sponsor First Tennessee and the YWCA of Nashville and Middle Tennessee will induct seven women and one corporate honoree at the Oct. 5 ceremony.

Proceeds from the AWA recognition dinner help fund YWCA programs, including the Weaver Domestic Violence Center, which helps families leave abusive homes and start new lives. The YWCA also provides free GED® preparation to women as well as men, and provides mentors to middle school girls in some of Nashville’s toughest neighborhoods through the Girls Inc. program. The YWCA exists to educate and encourage women and to help break down those barriers that perpetuate racism, violence and hopelessness.
